Dr. Khaled F. Tabbara is Chairman of the Saudi Scientific Board of Ophthalmology at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute – Johns Hopkins University, Clinical Professor at King Saud University, and Medical Director of The Eye Center and The Eye Foundation for Research in Ophthalmology in Riyadh.
He has received numerous international honors, including the Life Achievement Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2015), the Gold Medal Award from the Saudi Ophthalmological Society (2011), the Trachoma Gold Medal from the International Organization Against Trachoma (2000), and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hellenic Society for the Study of Ocular Inflammations and Infections (2010). He also received the Award in Teaching and Training in Ophthalmology from the Saudi Ophthalmological Society during RSOS 2017 in Jeddah.
Dr. Tabbara has authored over 350 scientific publications, along with multiple books and chapters in ophthalmology. He remains active in clinical ophthalmology, resident training, research, and continuing medical education.
